Loaned executives (LEs) are a crucial part of United Way of Central Alabama’s (UWCA’s) annual campaign. Local organizations can send their own employees or sponsor recent graduates or retirees to participate in a 13-week working session. During this time, LEs receive a wide range of leadership training and opportunities to further develop and sharpen their skills in areas such as public speaking, presentations, selling propositions and communication. They even enjoy some insightful and helpful personality testing.
After an in-depth orientation period with UWCA’s Resource Development Department and a crash course in United Way’s vital role in Central Alabama, LEs then become contacts in the field for companies participating in a workplace campaign – supporting companies in an all-out effort to encourage employee giving. Throughout the program, LEs continue to receive training and assistance from staff, and return to their respective companies with increased self-confidence, an expanded network and strengthened skills in sales, time management, communication, negotiation and presentations. We are incredibly grateful for our LEs!
